Club de Futbol Monterrey ·31 de May 2026. After five years of commitment, passion, and success with the Rayadas, Eva Espejo concluded her tenure at Club de Futbol Monterrey to take on a new personal and professional challenge in her career. The Club recognizes her decision to emigrate to start a new professional career as Director of National Women's Teams of Ecuador and Technical Director of the Women's National Team. Eva took on the Technical Director role upon her arrival at the Club in the Apertura 2021 tournament and later the Women's Sports Director in the Clausura 2024, leaving her mark on the Institution. As Technical Director, a position she held from Apertura 2021 to Apertura 2023, she guided the Rayadas to the championship title in Apertura 2021, the second in the team's history. With this championship, she became the first Technical Director champion of the Liga BBVA MX Femenil. In June 2022, Eva received the Golden Ball as the Best Technical Director of the Liga BBVA MX Femenil for her performance in the Clausura 2022. The International Federation of History and Statistics of Football (IFFHS) ranked her in 2022 as the fourth best club women's coach in the world, the second woman to be ranked and the only coach from Latin America included in the list. Under her direction, the Rayadas also represented the Club in the Women's International Champions Cup (WICC), a quadrangular tournament in which international teams participated, and in which Monterrey defeated the Portland Thorns and disputed the Final against the Olympique de Lyon. From the Clausura 2024, Eva took on the role of Women's Sports Director, a stage in which the Rayadas obtained the third championship in the Clausura 2024 and the fourth in the Apertura 2024, which meant the first bicampeonato in the history of the Institution. Additionally, she was part of the creation of the women's Sub-19 and Sub-16 categories that today form footballers In Life and On the Pitch. As Technical Director and Sports Director, Eva left a significant mark on her leadership, her constant impulse to women's football, and her conviction that sports development must take into account the human side of each player. Club de Futbol Monterrey deeply thanks Eva Espejo for these five years of dedication and commitment.
